The enchanting old fishing village of Stintino, on Sardinia’s northwestern coast, is a pleasant relaxing place only recently converted to tourism. Situated in front of the natural reserve of the island of Asinara, it stretches over two inlets with two narrow harbours: Porto Nuovo and Porto Vecchio, which are the main places for tourist activity.
The beaches are the main attraction of Stintino.“La Pelosa Beach” with its tower on the sea is the most famous and with no doubt one of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia with its turquoise water and fine white sand.
During the summer season there are many forms of entertainment like traditional events, the Latin Sail Regatta, a large selection of sport activities, and also a museum of the tuna capture technique. Needless to say, the restaurants in Stintino are well-known for their excellent seafood and specialize in lobsters.
For nature lovers the island of Asinara, recently converted to a natural reserve, offers sceneries of uncontaminated and incomparable beauty and it is one of its kind in the basin of the Mediterranean when it comes to its geology, its flora and fauna, both on land and sea, and the state of its outstanding wildlife.
Civil ceremonies take place in the local Town Hall
Symbolic ceremonies can be organized on the beach (in low season), in private villas and in a garden
